In a time where radicalism is on the rise “Children Of The Revolution” takes a closer and deeper look into the life of two young men from Tehran. It brings into light the persona of an atheist and a fan of heavy-metal music, Arash, and juxtaposes it with the portrait of a fundamentalist, Amir Arab. We learn how heavy metal becomes a beacon of hope and rebellion for a group of adolescents in a country that banns them from such music and considers it ill-gotten and unlawful. Children Of The Revolution is a cinematographic confrontation between two distinctive individuals with different family backgrounds. Their different upbringings had shaped their personalities in such way that their views on how a society should function are irreconcilable. The film looks back in time to understand why one of the two had to leave his home to seek refuge in Europe.

City Walls-My own private TehranDocumentary, 35mm, 87 min, Switzerland/ Iran/ HUGOFILM/ Zurich/
In times where headlines about the so called "Culture Clash" hunt each other, the Iranian filmmaker Afsar Sonia Shafie tells us a different story. It is the story of her grandmother, her mother and herself. In a very private and exemplary way the film tells us about how women fight for their right to progress. A fascinating, personal film about strong women in Iran.
